Sleep-Apnoea Indian Registry (S-AIR)

S-AIR is a non-interventional sleep apnoea registry. The registry ligates with experts, interested sleep physicians, researchers in sleep medicine etc across the nation to enrol as a site in the registry. Each site will fill the online questionnaire at the baseline which will capture basic patient information as well as the polysomnography test results. Each sleep raw data will be specifically verified by the central scoring site, Gurgaon. Appropriate feedback would be provided to the site about the quality of their data. Similarly, an annual follow up will be undertaken after a year for each patient being recruited in the study.

The studied is supported by Indian Chest Society (ICS). Incepted in 1980, ICS is a organization of qualified Chest Physicians and physicians interested in the field of Respiratory Medicine. It is a non profit making organization devoted to research, academic, educational and patient welfare activities. The key leaders involved in the registry are Dr Himanshu Garg (HOD, Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, Artemis Hospital, Gurugram), Dr Pratibha Dogra (Senior Consultant, Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, Artemis Hospital,Gurugram), Dr. Raja Dhar (Consultant Respiratory Physician, Fortis Hospital, Kolkata)

International Advisor- Dr David Cunnington( Director, Melbourne Sleep Disorders Centre, Australia) Dr Cunnington practices exclusively in sleep medicine, managing a broad range of sleep problems including insomnia, snoring and sleep apnoea, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Dr Cunnington has a particular interest in complex sleep problems and their interaction with physical and mental health. Dr Cunnington trained in sleep medicine both in Australia and Harvard Medical School in the United States. He has Australian and International qualifications in sleep medicine and the use of behavioural and psychological treatments in sleep. These broad training experiences and qualifications allow Dr Cunnington to use a range of non-drug treatments in managing sleep problems, as well as use medications when needed.
